No. 633. 10.
BRITIAN EMBASSY,
TOKYO.
December 15th, 1927.
sir,
With reference to ŝir Miles Lampson's
despatch No. 2150 of November 29th, I have the honour
to report that in each of my last two conversationa
with the Mininter for Foreign Affairs, on December 5th
and 13th, I have mentioned the subject of the suppression
of piracy at Bias Bay. On the first occasion Baron
Tanaka responded vaguely, as if the subject was not
familiar; on the 13th instant, he was still rather vagus
but said that he had no objection to the proposals of
the Ministers at Peking. It is evidently not he
personally who is interested in the question of piracy
at Haichow.
2. A copy of this despatch has bem sent to His
Kajesty's Kinister at Peking.
I have, etc..

JOHN TILLEY.
